Certificate of authenticity
This lithograph powerfully shows the chromatic force of Karel Appel, a key figure of CoBrA. The brightly coloured cat seems to leap from the surface, carried by spontaneous gesture; its almost incandescent colours clash with the orange ground, expressing the raw energy and vital impulse dear to the artist.
