A beautiful livre d'artiste, illustrated with 23 ORIGINAL COLOR LITHOGRAPHS (each printed in black and one other color) BY BERTHOMME SAINT-ANDRE.
From a total edition of 275 copies beautifully printed on fine Arches wove paper, THIS IS COPY NUMBER 1, THE UNIQUE COPY with two original signed drawings by the artist (one on wove paper and one on antique laid paper), a suite with remarques, and a separation suite of each of the 23 lithographs.
Additionally, although not called for, this copy has 2 planches refusees (one of which is signed in pencil and numbered 1/20) and six other proofs, one of which is initialed in pencil.
OVER 100 LITHOGRAPHS IN ALL. Thick folio. Loose as issued in original wraps.
FINE AND BRIGHT, WITH NO DEFECTS. In the original board chemise (also fine) and slipcase (bashed but repairable).
