This fine lithograph continues the experiments with blue that Poliakoff began in the 1950s. Here the artist opts for a range of cool, almost grey blues, juxtaposing five colours to create a play of transparency that conveys a sense of calm. A certain verticality runs through the composition, which integrates the curves of a circle and irregular angles. The work is one of the ten lithographs of the Erker-Presse portfolio published in St. Gallen in 1966.
