La lune près de paraître, meaning “The Moon About to Appear,” captures one of the most poetic moments in the Haï-Ku series. The title suggests anticipation: the moon is not fully visible yet, but its presence is already felt. Miró often treated visual art as a form of poetry, using symbols, rhythm, and space to create meaning. His interest in poets, especially the Surrealists, shaped his belief that an image could suggest more than it explains. In this lithograph, the composition can be read as a meditation on emergence, night, and quiet transformation. Its reduced forms and open space mirror the compressed intensity of a haiku.
