Hassan Badreddine – 1 Conte de 1001 Nuits, illustrated by Kees van Dongen. Issued in 1918 in an edition of 310 copies. Fantastically and richly illustrated with more than 100 black and white prints and 7 great pochoirs. In addition, the cover was also made in pochoir. The pochoirs by van Dongen were all made by Jean Saudé, the master of this technique in the heyday of the pochoir technique. This is a regular copy, numbered 169 out of 200 copies on Vélin de Hollande. This is the first book that Van Dongen illustrated.
The book is in good condition, some discoloration throughout, some ghost effects on everal pages (mirror copy of the ajacent pages) and the cover has been torn at the back.
