NOTES
This original illustration is the preparatory artwork for Keith Haring's Pop Shop poster, created to promote his retail space at 292 Lafayette Street, SoHo. The black ink bleeds through the heavy uncoated paper, and the tracing corresponds precisely to the published poster, establishing this as the source material from which the edition was derived.

The Pop Shop, opened in April 1986, embodied Haring's belief that art should be accessible to everyone. Unlike the subsequent screenprint editions, this singular work captures the artist's hand directly. Authenticated by the Keith Haring Foundation with their red stamp and registration number, this work represents a documented moment in the creation of one of Haring's most significant ventures.
